Motherhood guides with Marissa Anastasi

Motherhood guides from Marissa Anastasi: Just being there for the tears, talking about feelings, letting them feel and express what they’re experiencing. What a big world to learn and navigate! Strong legs. I can bounce a grumpy baby for hours! Learning to communicate with my daughter through her tantrums. I can work out what’s wrong instead of getting frustrated with her attitude. I’ve found talking to her quietly and calmly like an adult, she responds better than if I get upset too.

See Your Body as Your New Superpower. “There is so much pressure to ‘bounce back’ post-baby,” new first-time mom and co-founder of Tone It Up, Katrina Scott tells MyDomaine. “Our bodies are not the same as they were pre-baby—and they shouldn’t be. They are stronger,” she explains. “I want every mom to know that you are a superwoman. You created a miracle and your body is remarkable. Let’s all treat ourselves with more love, patience, and compassion.” Our bodies are not the same as they were pre-baby—and they shouldn’t be. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. “If your child falls over for the first time it’s probably likely you do not need to visit the emergency room,” says Jen Auerbach, mother and co-founder of Clary Collection. Try Disconnecting Nursing from Sleeping “This will help immensely in getting a baby to sleep without milk,” explains Dr. Hilary Fritsch, a mom, family dentist, and co-founder of Brushies. “My favorite routine is bath, cuddle, milk, book, brush, jammies, sleep sack, song, bed,” she notes.

Keep an open door policy. Let your child know that they can come to you at any time to talk about anything. This is important for developing and maintaining a good parent/teen relationship. When they come to you with something, stop and take the time to listen to them, talk to them and connect with them. If you want any relationship to work, it requires time, energy and effort. The relationship between a child and parent does not automatically occur, it must be cultivated. In order to cultivate it properly, your child must feel that they can come to you at any time for anything. Read more details at Motherhood blog.

Connection in my parenting journey, and especially in my relationship, because we have someone that we made together that we both love so much. The connection with this little person who shows up every day with their heart on their sleeve is the most profound love. Having a whole new perspective on life. The little things don’t seem to matter so much any more. I am responsible for another human being and that is more important than any issues at work or car troubles.

My blog is really about my passions in life and my struggles and it’s probably the same for many people. I feel like I could share a lot of experiences, good and bad and blogging also gives me a platform to share moments in our ever-changing life from babies, young kids to teenagers. There’s a mixture of topics, not just motherhood but lifestyle, house design, fashion, travel. I’m passionate about supporting small businesses, especially local ones and those that are run by mums like myself, as I know first-hand how difficult this is and how much the small shops need local support to survive.
