Moreover, as we age, our skin naturally loses vital proteins such as elastin, which gives the skin its flexibility and elasticity, and collagen, which enables the growth of new, healthy cells and contributes to an evenly textured, smooth skin surface. Together, the natural aging process and constant exposure to the elements take a visible toll on the health and appearance of our skin.
